March of Dimes Textile and Apparel luncheon honors awards recipients

New York — Richard Phelan, senior vp and regional manager, JP Morgan Chase, and George Shtorhyn, senior vp, merchandising, Schneider Mills Inc., will each receive the March of Dimes Service to Humanity Award at the March of Dimes 2002 Textile and Apparel Luncheon on June 13. The luncheon will be held at the Sheraton New York Hotel & Towers here.
Both men are to be lauded for their commitment to the textile and apparel industry and for service to their community.
Phelan, who has been in commercial banking for almost 50 years, has been involved in many industry groups, including the American Textile Manufacturers Institute.
Shtorhyn started in the textiles industry at Milliken and Company. Later he worked at New River Industries, and then Schneider Mills, where he currently is senior vp, merchandising. He has been involved in industry groups as well as charitable organizations, including the Textile Distributors Association and United Jewish Appeal.
