By Staff -- Home Textiles Today, 9/4/2007 8:42:00 AM

Hoffman Estates, Ill. – Joining Martha Stewart as a brand for its home furnishings division, Abbey Hill brings the mood of the English country ambience to Kmart in a bed and bath collection launching this month.

Abbey Hill, a fictional name, is a new private label program that features embroideries, trims, and luxurious woven jacquards in classic traditional design looks in the bedding introductions. Six patterns are featured in the all-cotton comforter sets that include an oversized comforter, coordinating pillow shams and bed skirts all available in full, queen and king sizes with the queen at $79.99.

Sheets are 250 count in 12 patterns and solids, with the queen sets at $39.99. Decorative pillows are featured at $12.99.

The bath collection features two towel constructions: a ring spun low twist cotton in eight pastel colors at $6.99; and a cotton ring spun towel in eight vibrant colors at $4.99.

Abbey Hill joins a previously announced updated and expanded Martha Stewart Everyday collection in bed and bath that focuses on the 5-Star segment of the program that is the upper end of the three levels of merchandise, beginning with the 3-Star level as the good, and the 4-Star level as the better.

Included in the new Martha Stewart Everyday introductions are 5-Star sheets in a 500 count Egyptian cotton sateen construction, 5-Star duvet covers in 300 count Egyptian cotton sateen, 5-Star jacquard matelasse cover in a raised floral pattern, and 5-Star coordinating towels.

Beyond bed and bath, Kmart will feature Martha Stewart Everyday Holiday Collections with black and translucent glass balls as important trend items for 2007, as well as candy for tree decorations.
