In rash of retirements, Penney loses top execs

PLANO, TX -Randy Ronning, president of Catalog and Internet at JCPenney since 1998 has retired, effective Dec. 31.

Ronning had earlier served as president of the Home and Leisure division.

A search for a successor is under way, according to Allen Questrom, chairman and ceo of J.C. Penney Co.

In other executive changes, Stephen Raish has been elected executive vp, cio, succeeding David Evans who also retired Dec. 31. Raish most recently served as president of the company's ACT initiative, a strategic task force formed to review all aspects of the company's merchandising processes. He earlier served as president of the Home and Leisure division during his 28-year career with the company.

Robert Cavanaugh has been elected executive vp, cfo. He succeeds Donald McKay, who also retired Dec. 31. Cavanaugh most recently was cfo of Eckerd, which is owned by Penney.
