WestPoint adds Stone as senior vp

WestPoint, GA — David Stone has joined WestPoint Stevens Inc. as senior vp, information technology and chief information officer, a new position.

Stone joins the major mill from Deloitte Consulting, Charlotte, NC, where he had worked since 1984, becoming a partner in 1990. Earlier, he held such positions as senior manager, manager and senior consultant. Before joining Deloitte, he was director of information systems with Martin Marketing, Charlotte, from 1980, and prior to that he had worked with Odell Associates of Charlotte.

In his new post, effective Oct. 1, he will divide his time between WestPoint's information technology offices at corporate headquarters in WestPoint, GA, and at the Clemson, SC, manufacturing complex.
