Hufnagel exits Ex-Cell

New York — After 18 years with the company, Gerry Hufnagel announced his resignation from his post as vp, basic bath merchandising at Ex-Cell Home Fashions.

He told HTT he is taking some time off from the industry to spend time with his family and do some traveling. But, as new business opportunities arise in the future, Hufnagel hopes to rejoin the industry. “I look forward to continuing to be involved with the market and its customers,” he said.

Hufnagel joined Ex-Cell originally as vp, merchandising for the decorative pillow division. He has held his current position for the past eight years. Prior to Ex-Cell, Hufnagel worked in various executive merchandising posts within the textiles industry.

For the time being, the company does not plan to fill Hufnagel’s position, said David North, vp, marketing development.

“[Hufnagel] has made a tremendous contribution to the growth of Ex-Cell over his many years and will be sincerely missed,” said Charlie Barrese, senior vp, merchandising.
