A letter to the industry

Sears veteran Charles Domingue was recently promoted to dmm of boys 2 to 20 in the company's children's division. Formerly dmm for bed and bath at Sears, Domingue forwarded the following letter to HTT, asking that it be shared with the industry.
To my friends and partners in the home textiles industry:
I have pondered for the last two weeks on what I should say to an industry that I have lived and loved for more than 20 years. I was not sure, but I knew I should say something. Last night it dawned on me that I was over-analyzing. I simply want to say "Thank you."
Thank you for allowing me to learn and grow in the industry, both personally and professionally.
Thank you for making me a part of such a tight-knit community. I never felt like an outsider.
Thank you for the knowledge that will serve me well in my new endeavors.
Since the announcement [of the promotion] I have received personal expressions of congratulations and best wishes from many in the industry. These have been very touching. They also speak volumes about the character of the people in the home textiles industry.
I will miss the people the most.
With sincere thanks,
Charles S. Domingue
P.S. I rather doubt that the home fashions industry has seen the last of me, so please stay in touch!
We would love your feedback!
