ITG completes merger-acquisition of Safety Components

Greensboro, N.C. and Greenville, S.C. – Safety Components International (SCI) has merged into the Wilbur Ross conglomerate International Textile Group (ITG), and will continue to operate as a public company, and to do business as Safety Textiles International, the Safety Division of ITG.
Stephen Duerk, who served as president of SCI, will serve as president of the new business unit. Joseph Gorga remains ITG president and ceo.
Wilbur Ross, chairman of ITG, said of the previously announced acquisition, “We are very pleased to have completed this merger transaction. The combination of these two companies creates a powerful force in the global textile industry.”
