White Plains, N.Y. – The New York International Gift Fair will return to its staggered opening schedule at this summer’s show.

Show organizer George Little Management (GLM) said the summer 2009 New York International Gift Fair will run Saturday, Aug.15 through Thursday, Aug. 20 at New York City’s Javits Convention Center and Passenger Ship Terminal Piers 92 and 94.

From Saturday through Wednesday, the “New York’s Newest” and “Studio” will be open at Pier 92, while “At Home” will be open at Pier 94, and “Handmade” will be open at Javits, GLM said.

All other NYIGF divisions (“Accent on Design,” “At Home featuring Home Textiles,” “Extracts,” “General Gift,” “Personal Accessories” and “Tabletop & Housewares”) will run Sunday through Thursday at the Javits.

Also of note, the “SustainAbility: design for a better world” display and seminar series will return with a curated exhibit of new global gift and home industry suppliers whose products or production processes are eco-friendly, as well as companies whose business practices are socially responsible, philanthropic or fair-trade oriented. For information, visit www.nyigf.com.
