ShopKo taps Fred Meyer exec for store ops/logistics

Green Bay, WI — ShopKo has named Dan Bolstad senior vp of store operations and logistics for the company's ShopKo and Pamida divisions.

Previous, Bolstad was senior vp, operations group, at Fred Meyer stores. He began his retail career at Fred Meyer in 1976 as a store management trainee and was promoted to local, district, regional and corporate store operations leadership positions, he assuming responsibility for logistics management of all Fred Meyer businesses three years ago.

ShopKo president and ceo Sam Duncan said Bolstad's experience would be leveraged "as we begin to plan for store growth and to develop new store prototypes."

Mike Bettiga, previously responsible for store and retail health operations, was named senior vp of retail health operations for the company's ShopKo and Pamida divisions.
