Bardwil's Liz Line Ready for Market

By Cecile B. Corral -- Home Textiles Today, 10/10/2005 12:00:00 AM

New York — Divvied into five different lifestyle design groupings, the new Liz Claiborne Home table linens and kitchen textiles collection by Bardwil Linens is set to launch during the upcoming New York Home Textiles Market.

The two parties signed their licensing partnership in February. The line includes tablecloths, napkins, napkin rings, table runners, chair pads, kitchen towels, potholders and oven mitts. It targets department and specialty stores.

Said Nancy Kristoff, president, Bardwil, “The collection reflects the distinctively feminine point of view that is a hallmark of the Liz Claiborne brand.”

The five lifestyle groupings for the line are: Cottage Casual, Bungalow Brights, Lagoon Living, Spring Soiree and Emma's Garden.

Cottage Casual centers on traditional, vintage-inspired prints that have been updated with paisley, petite floral and muted stripe designs.

Lagoon Living employs a vibrant green paired with seersucker and denim fabrics, and accented with contrast stitching.

Bungalow Brights features bright orange and red florals combined with juicy-colored stripes.

Spring Soiree pairs blue stripes with a hint of khaki.

And Emma's Garden depicts watercolor prints with touches of pink, claret and celadon.

The line also includes two Garden Damask coordinates, both of which compliment each of the five lifestyle groupings. They are: Tea Rose, an etched all-over rose motif; and Daisy Hill, a chambray with an updated daisy floral.

The Liz Claiborne line is one of several licensed programs by Bardwil. The 100-year-old table linen company also creates the table linens collections for the Lenox, Dansk and Michael Graves brands.

The Liz Claiborne Home line launched in 2002 with flooring. Today, it also includes furniture, decorative fabrics, bedding and bath goods, window treatments and storage items.
