Smith Promoted at Family Dollar
Family Dollar Stores has promoted Kenneth Smith to svp and cfo. Most recently, Smith was vp-finance. In his new role, he will report to Howard Levine, chairman and ceo of the 6,300-unit neighborhood discount chain.
"We are committed to developing and promoting talent from within Family Dollar, and I am especially pleased to recognize Ken's leadership skills and expertise," said Levine.
He added, "Since joining Family Dollar more than 17 years ago, Ken has successfully led teams in a number of areas, including accounting, finance, information technology, loss prevention and store operations. This broad base of experience has strengthened his knowledge of Family Dollar, and his promotion to chief financial officer reflects his financial expertise and the value of his contributions to our company."
WSL Hires Rosenberry
Retail strategy firm WSL Strategic Retail has hired Shilpa Bharne Rosenberry as senior consultant.
Rosenberry has nearly ten years of experience in brand strategy and trend research, largely in the home categories. She was manager of merchandise analysis for Linens 'n Things, and prior to that was the senior manager for housewares and home at Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia, overseeing development of the Martha Stewart Everyday program at Kmart.
Claridge Textiles Hires Paust
Claridge Textiles International, a vertical mill for decorative fabrics and trimmings, has acquired, renovated, and stocked a distribution center in Salisbury, N.C. The 100,000-square-foot facility will enhance customer service.
The company has hired Bob Paust to head up specialty account sales nationally and assist the local sales team in the Carolinas. Paust, formerly with American Trim Manufacturing and Conso Trims, brings 15 years of experience to the company.
