Lebanon, Tenn. – Cracker Barrel Old Country Stores has named Deborah Evans to the newly created position of vp, product development.

In this new position, she will be responsible for the development of merchandise for the retail side of the Cracker Barrel business, ensuring consistency with the Cracker Barrel Promise.

She reports to Terry Maxwell, senior vp of retail.

Evans has 25 years experience in product development and brand creation, most recently as vp, product development/design for home at JCPenney, where she was responsible for the JCPenney Home Collection and the brand launches of Chris Madden, Studio for JCPenney Home, Colin Cowie, and Cooks.

Prior to JCPenney, she was director of private brands for Kohl’s.

Cracker Barrel Old Country Stores operates 557 company-owned locations in 41 states. Each is modeled after an early-1900s-era country store, featuring old photographs, authentic antiques, memorabilia, and a wood-burning fireplace. The adjoining restaurant focuses on comfort food, while the retail store offers more than 2,700 gift items, including accessories for the home, candles, books on audio, nostalgic items, and children’s games and puzzles.
