Federated appoints Hanson, Gatio division principals

Cincinnati — Federated Department Stores Inc. has appointed two new division principals – Amy Hanson and Michael Gatio – effective July 31.

Hanson has been named vice chairman for administration of the company’s Minneapolis-based Macy's North division. Since July 2002, she has served as president of Federated's Cincinnati-based Financial, Administrative and Credit Services division, also known as the FACS Group.

In her new role Hanson will join Frank Guzzetta, chairman and ceo, and Robert Soroka, president and coo, as the division's principals. Her responsibilities will center on finance and operations-related functions at Macy's North.

Gatio replaces Hanson as president of the FACS Group. He is currently the division's evp for credit operations and marketing.

In his new post, he will lead the company's credit alliance with Citigroup, telephone customer experience, Star Rewards customer loyalty program and e-commerce customer support. He will report to Tom Cole, Federated vice chair.

In related news, David Faulk, evp of FACS, will have a dual reporting relationship between FACS and Federated's corporate office. He will continue to be responsible for the FACS division's human resources and administration functions, reporting to Gatio. In his role overseeing the administration of benefits, employee services and payroll for Federated, Faulk will now report directly to David Clark, Federated’s svp for human resources.
