New York — Decorative fabrics and wallpaper company Brunschwig & Fils said it has acquired New York-based Hinson & Co. for an undisclosed amount.
The two companies have similar product lines that include fabrics, wallpaper, lighting, decorative accessories and furniture.
Thomas P. Peardon and T. Oliver Peardon are the sole stockholders of Brunschwig & Fils.
"This alliance is a strategic partnering in a changing and evolving market that will strengthen and reinforce both historic brands," said T. Oliver Peardon, the company's president and CEO.
Hinson & Co. principal Harry Hinson will be director of design at the merged company and will focus on Hinson, which will operate as an affiliate of Brunschwig & Fils. He will work closely with T. Oliver Peardon.
Hinson & Co. showrooms will be integrated into all Brunschwig & Fils showrooms in a "carefully designed and separate Hinson space," the company said. Hinson's contact information, telephone numbers, faxes and e-mail remain unchanged.
The Hinson line will be expanded to Paris, London and Melbourne under the new ownership.
Principals in the deal said the acquisition will strengthen both brands.
