Sure Fit extends slipcover lineup

New assortment includes better constructions

Sure Fit Inc. continued to broaden its lineup of slipcovers with the addition of new and better constructions.

For those consumers hoping to cover their furniture in better constructions, Sure Fit has added a Thai-Silk line. Since the line is actually constructed from a mixture of polyester, cotton and acrylic, it does not carry the price tag of an actual silk product.

"Those consumers who have already ordered said they liked it because it matched their décor and because it was durable and washable," said Paula Neustat, vp of corporate development for the company. "The colors really lighten the room."

The Thai-Silk line is offered in lapis blue, light jade, saffron and multi stripe, with a soft loveseat cover priced at $129. Chair and loveseat covers are also available, for $79 and $109, respectively, as is a 21-inch square pillow.

Also making its debut is a cotton duck slipcover with contrast trim and kick pleat skirt, a tweed chenille cover, a large-scale but very clean Lily leaf pattern and Palermo, a cotton print.

The tweed chenille is designed to have the look of tweed but the softness of chenille and is available in honey and moss colorways.

Lily, a mixture of polyester, cotton and acrylic, features large-scale leaves with a cream-on-taupe color scheme.

Island foliage in green and beige tones adorns the cotton print Palermo, giving it a tropical feel.

All three patterns are offered in chair and loveseat constructions. Tweed chenille and Lily are offered with a 21-inch square pillow, while a Palermo corded pillow is sized at 17 inches.

For the first time in its history, Sure Fit is offering cotton duck tab-top drapes in four colors. Each color coordinates with the company's line of cotton duck slipcovers. Made from 100 percent cotton duck, each panel is 50" x 84", is offered in indigo, linen, moss and natural, and carries a retail price point of $25.

Going hand in hand with the small drapery line, Sure Fit is also offering two styles of curtain rods. Shepherd's Crook and Polo Wood Ball are available in 28-inch to 48-inch and 48-inch to 86-inch lengths. Price points start at $32 and go up to $45.

"It's a new product that we're testing," said Neustat of the curtains. "We had requests from customers for it, and we're trying it out. We'll test it for a good period of time before we go into any depth on it.

"Our focus is on our core category, which is slipcovers," she added.
