Calvin extends bath with rugs

New York — Calvin Klein Home is extending bath offerings under its Collection brand with a new line of bath rugs.

The line includes sculpted designs and sheered/pile combinations that coordinate back to the solid-color jacquard towel program. Rugs are available in two sizes — 20'' x 30'' and 27'' x 45'' - and start at $75. The line is made by Nourison, which also produces the Calvin Klein area rug program launched in January.

Calvin Klein Home also is adding lotion pumps to its bath accessories assortments to round out offerings. Although the pumps will be offered at "a popular price point," said chairman Rudy Schmatz, "we're not driven by price; and we won't sacrifice quality."

Overall, he said, the Collection bed and bath business "is pretty well developed indoors." The more upper-moderate Khaki still has the potential to grow doors more significantly, he told HTT.
