7 W New York, IFDA to Co-host “Designer Day”

In collaboration with the International Furnishings & Design Association (IFDA) and in celebration of the organization's 2009 Rising Stars program, home furnishings showroom building 7W is hosting a “Designer Day” panel on in early November with Jamie Drake.

Famed interior decorator and designer Drake will exchange ideas and design secrets with IFDA's 2009 honorees — John Willey, Sara Story and Shawn Anderson. The event is scheduled Nov. 10. A networking and cocktail reception begins at 5:30 p.m., followed by the discussion session from 6:30 to 8 p.m.

IFDA's New York chapter first launched its “Rising Stars of Interior Design” event in 2007. The purpose of the program is to give recognition to up-and-coming designers. Invitation into the group “is an honor bestowed upon talented and emerging designers destined to become leaders and established tastemakers in the design world,” the organization said.

Fees for reservations and payments received by Nov. 3 are discounted at: $25 for members, $40 for guests, and $15 for students. Those received on or after Nov. 4 will be charged: $40 for members, $55 for guests, and $30 for students.
