SAN FRANCISCO -BlueLight.com will soon launch a new Internet access service that will restructure its ISP business, which had previously been offered free of charge.
The new Internet Service Provider (ISP), which will be made available on March 1, will include two tiers of service and various special offers through a reward program called BlueLight Rewards. BlueLight.com's current subscriber base of more than 6 million people can migrate to the new service.
The first tier of service will be BlueLight Basic Free Internet service, which will allow 12 hours of free Web access per month-down from the current offering of 25 free hours per month. The next tier, which will cost $9.95 per month, is to include 100 hours of Web access.
Surfers who shop at BlueLight.com will also receive bonus offers. For a limited time, users who purchase any item at BlueLight.com will receive one month of free Internet access. More free months may be earned for every $50 spent, before tax and shipping, per individual order over $100, for a maximum of six free months.
"Following significant shifts in the ISP market over the past year, BlueLight is now the only major retailer still offering a free Internet service to its valued customers," said Steve Feuling, chief marketing officer of BlueLight.com.
