cmi repositions sales staff with promotions

PAWTUCKET, RI —

Braided texture rugs and accessories manufacturer cmi (Colonial Mills Inc.) has announced two promotions — Lynne Scarlata to marketing administrator and Shirley Smith to sales administrator.

The company recently created the position assigned to Scarlata, who now reports to president and ceo Donald Scarlata. Smith replaces Mary Jane Connell, who in February was promoted to sales manager.

Previously an executive assistant, Scarlata's new responsibilities as marketing administrator include coordinating sales presentations and proposals, managing cmi's image audit and scheduling the media buys for the company.

In her new capacity as sales administrator, Smith is responsible for the company's SPIFF and co-op programs as well as the coordination of samples and sales literature.
