American Pacific goes live with TradeIT

KIRKLAND, WASH. —

American Pacific Enterprises recently went live on three new modules of TradeIT — Global Trading Systems' product-lifecycle-management application for the home textiles industry.

Working with American Pacific, GTS adapted its core bill of materials, sample and line management modules to meet the requirements of the home textile industry. Users can collaborate on design specifications and sampling of fabrics, semi-finished and finished goods, complete bill of materials, build potential lines, analyze costs, commercialize product as well as track and trace critical events related to new product introductions, said GTS.

American Pacific has utilized the initial module offering of TradeIT, an Internet-based sourcing manager module, for a number of years. In May 2003, American Pacific licensed and implemented three more modules for collaboration and management of product development and commercialization activities at offices worldwide, stated the company.

"As we've grown over the past few years, we needed a solid collaboration tool to support product development and enable the teams we have assembled around the world in getting quality product to market fast," said Greg Block, CEO of American Pacific.

"Especially important for us was the ability to have an immediate, online cost and margin breakdown at the fabric, stock and set-item levels. GTS also developed functionality that allows the fabric development process to occur as a distinct, yet linked step in the line building process. We also expect to see important improvements in our ability to manage product quality going forward as the system provides us with a much-improved bill of materials management system designed specifically for home textiles."
