New York – WestPoint Home has donated some 500 of the Chris Madden for JCPenney Plush Blankets as part of the Blue Star Mothers of America’s campaign to give soldiers wounded in Iraq “a softer touch of home.”
Operation Cozy Comfort contacted Madden, the celebrity designer whose collection of home furnishing is exclusively at JCPenney, who in turn contacted WestPoint Home.
Blue Star Mothers of America is a national Veteran Service organization. In thanking Madden and WestPoint Home, Carla Brodacki, president of the organization’s Michigan chapter who initiated the request, said, “The Chris Madden Plush Blanket will be like getting a hug sent to them from home.”
Over the 30 years her company has been in business, Madden said, “I have always made philanthropy an essential part of my company’s objectives. This was only a small gesture on my part to ease the immense pain and suffering of our injured soldiers.”
Alan Kennedy, svp of sales for WestPoint Home said, “We are honored to be asked by Chris Madden to join her initiative and to donate signature blankets to be sent to the Air Force hospital in Iraq to provide comfort for our injured soldiers.”
Congratulations, this is marvelous moral support to our troops and their loved ones at home.
