Garden Ridge ups comps, hires Harmon

HOUSTON -- Touting a sixth-straight month of positive sales momentum, Garden Ridge reported May comps increased 1 percent over last year and gross margin dollars were up 6.6 percent.

For the fiscal year-to-date, the company stated comps were up 5.2 percent.Garden Ridge also named Bill Harmon vice president, marketing and information technology.  He was most recently senior vice president, marketing, at The Bon-Ton Department Stores. Harmon also served as senior vice president, merchandise planning, for Foley’s Department Stores.
