NYIGF to debut new marketing campaign, make show enhancements for winter 2010 edition

White Plains, NY – The winter 2010 edition of the New York International Gift Fair (NYIGF) will include about 600 new and returning companies throughout the show’s eight divisions. 

In total, the show will feature 2,800 exhibitors in 400 product categories at its venues, the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center and Passenger Ship Terminal Pier 94 in New York City. Particpants will include more than 300 companies from nearly 40 countries. 

A new initiative launching at the winter market is The Licensing Gallery @ NYIGF, an exhibit area comprising 30 companies offering art and design for sale or license.

Handmade, a division for artisans offering “Handmade in the USA” products, will expand and consolidate in the Javits Center's 1D hall, and globally sourced ethnic crafts will be grouped together in the 1E hall of the Javits Center. Additionally, handmade personal care products will be consolidated on the “Ex·Tracts” exhibit floor. 

Fair participants are also invited to several industry functions taking place during the week, including: the Gift For Life Stakes Are High casino fundraiser on Jan. 31 benefitting Design Industries Foundation Fighting AIDS; A Night on Broadway, featuring “Hair,” on Feb. 2; and the 2010 Housewares Design Awards Gala & Ceremony on Feb. 3.

The fair and partner showrooms at 230 Fifth Avenue, 7 West 34th Street and 41 Madison Avenue are also offering free admission to to the New Museum of Contemporary Art during the show week.

NYIGF will take place Jan. 30 to Feb. 4.
