Robert Allen Group creates two vp posts

NEW YORK —

Suzanne Kelly and Steve Avitable have joined The Robert Allen Group in new positions for the company, a designer and marketer of decorative fabrics, furniture and home furnishings.

Kelly, most recently vp of merchandising for Pierre Deux, the French home furnishings specialty retailer here, has been named vp, home furnishings. Earlier she was vp, merchandising, ABC Carpet & Home.

Avitable, most recently with Home Co. as vp, merchandising and marketing, has been named vp, furniture merchandising. Earlier he was with Gabbert's Furniture, Dallas.

Avitable and Jennie Wilde, design director, new product programs, report to Kelly. Wilde has been with Robert Allen in a variety of positions for seven years.

Andy Pacuk, senior vp, to whom Kelly reports, said Kelly will be responsible for developing and merchandising the home furnishings collections that include upholstery, case goods, accessories, top-of-bed and window product.
