West Chester, Pa. -- Multimedia retailer QVC experienced what it described as its largest Black Friday ever with more than $32 million in orders, a 60% increase over last year .
The 23-year-old QVC kicked off its holiday selling season early – on Thanksgiving night – with “The New Black Friday” special programming. The event offered three – as opposed the usual one – “Today’s Special Value” offers, which are items set at especially low prices for a specific period of time. In addition, QVC also offered special deals during every hour of programming during the day - long session.
More than 765,000 units were ordered in a 24-hour period.
“It's clear that their hard work paid off," said Mike George, president and ceo. "We're thrilled with the overwhelming response we received from our customers and will continue to strive to be their preferred destination for holiday shopping."
Big sellers included electronics like camcorders, at-home gaming systems and digital cameras.
We would love your feedback!
