Li & Fung taps Polo for Royal Velvet

NEW YORK — Li & Fung USA today named Jared Clark director of design for the Royal Velvet brand. He was formerly senior designer for Polo Ralph Lauren, where he was responsible for the design direction of bedding, bath and beach collections.

At Li & Fung USA, he will oversee the creative vision of the Royal Velvet branding project. Clark reports to Lou Casali, senior vice president and general manager.

Said Rick Darling, president of Li & Fung USA, "Jared’s significant design expertise in home fashion will be important as we continue to grow our home furnishings business."

Li & Fung is the major licensee for Royal Velvet which is owned by a consortium now known as Pillowtex LLC. Li & Fung’s licensing arrangement, issued through Royal Velvet brand manager Group 3 Designs, encompasses bedding, coordinated window treatments, non-filled throws, dec pillows, bath towels, tub mats, show curtains, bath accessories, terry wraps and robes, beach towels, kitchen towels, table linens, napkin rings and accessories.
