CARLSTADT, NJ —
Textile Fabric Associates (TFA), based here, and Signa, Italy-based Ta-Bru have formed a joint venture, Environ-Tex, that features natural materials such as cotton, linen and wool mixed with raffia and cellulose.
Some of the unique effects created via new technologies in weaving and finishing include coated linens, woven faux suedes and leathers, embossed faux animal skins in highly durable constructions, said Michael Day, vp, design for TFA. The fabrics have achieved more than 150,000 rubs, Day reported.
TFA has the exclusive marketing and distribution of the Environ-Tex product for the United States, Canada and Central and South America, Day related. "The products have had a smashing success in their limited test here," Day said, and will now be fully available to the home furnishings industry and jobber, retail, apparel, accessory, contract, hospitality and automotive markets.
The complete program is being featured this week during Showtime in High Point, NC, at TFA's showroom on the eighth floor of Market Square Tower and in Ta-Bru's showroom in the Suites at Market Square.
