QVC Chief Merchandiser Ronning to Retire

By Staff -- Home Textiles Today, 7/31/2006 12:00:00 AM

Randy Ronning will retire as executive vp, chief merchandising officer at QVC at the end of this year.

Ronning, who joined QVC in 2001 as executive vp, QVC.com, will be succeeded by Bob Ayd, currently senior vp, merchandise operations, global sourcing and home design. He will assume some of his new duties in October.

Ronning was promoted to his present position that combined responsibilities for both QVC and QVC.com in August 2005. He joined the company from JCPenney where he headed the company's early Internet and catalog activities, and previously had been president of JCPenney's home business.

Ayd is a 30 year retailing veteran with 20 years at Federated Department Stores and 10 at QVC.

Ronning also said that the position of director of merchandising, Home Style, previously held by Paul Callaro, would not be filled at this time. Callaro has joined Linens 'n Things.
