Sferra Unveils New Bedding

Classic Looks, Innovation Inspire Collections

By Staff -- Home Textiles Today, 4/17/2006 12:00:00 AM

New York — The debut of prints in the Kelly Hoppen collection, a new construction — super soft micro-modal — in sheets, and a Cottage Collection that brings classic design to a more casual lifestyle are highlights in the current bedding introductions by Sferra.

The company added another dimension to its two-year-old licensed Kelly Hoppen bedding program of sophisticated luxury linens with Grove, a light/dark silhouette of bamboo against an ivory and blue ground; and Wave, a subtle design. Both are woven and printed in Italy on Egyptian cotton percale. The Grove duvet will retail for $285, queen.

Micro-modal is woven into solid and striped sheetings in Manor and Logan (Logan duvet $530, queen), in a construction that creates a silk-like, super-soft hand that doesn't pill. The duo is part of the new Cottage Collection that also includes Chantal, an elaborate jacquard stripe of 650 count Egyptian cotton, $675 queen duvet; and Darcy, a floral jacquard sateen of 560 count Egyptian cotton, $680 queen duvet.

Chantal and Darcy are featured as sheeting and in duvets, shams and bed skirts, all made in Italy.

The Cottage Collection derives its inspiration from not only Le Petit Trianon at Versailles, but also the Newport “cottage” retreats of the 19th century. Also in the Cottage Collection is Lesleigh, a hand embroidered 406 count Egyptian cotton percale in white-on-white that derives its design from antique lace in a pattern of flowers, vines and leaves.

Poppy and Bari, two matelasse styles, are featured as blanket covers, shams and tailored bed skirts.

Sferra also has added to its Tommy Bahama collection with Desert Paisley, a Moroccan inspired print and Indigo Island, a rich blue and white. Queen duvets in Indigo Isle and Desert Paisley will sell for $340.
