Minneapolis —
Target on April 12 will debut MIO for Target, an eco-friendly outdoor collection, designed by Philadelphia-based MIO, founded in 2001 to produce "environmentally and socially progressive" home furnishings.
Mio for Target will run "for a limited time" in store, the retailer said, "with select items available on Target.com.
Eight outdoor items made from recycled and renewable materials comprise the collection: watering can, trowel, cultivator, weeder, mini herb garden, solar lights, hammock and composter. Prices will range from $6.99 for the trowel to $99.99 for the composter, Target said.
"We've worked closely with the MIO team to ensure this eco-friendly collection is an easy and affordable starting point for our guests to lead greener lives," said Gina Sprenger, svp merchandising, Target.
Jaime Salm, who founded MIO with his brother Isaac, said the Target line will reach a broader segment of consumers, "making it easy for anyone to live green and live well."
MIO goods are designed and produced with an approach of "minding the impact of materials, processes, and the complete life cycle of every product," the company said.
