Dalton, GA — Sphinx launched its new hand made Oasis line of India and China imported area rugs at the Atlanta International Area Rug Market this week.
The line comprises 15 collections and dozens of patterns and designs. Included were some never-before-seen constructions — 100 percent leather rugs, and the detail collection of tufted wool, hand-carved and hand-embroidered with rayon rugs.
Also the entire line is restricted to 5.6' by 8.6' size, "because it's the size that works better in the rooms of most customers' homes. I wanted the size that I know sticks and doesn't come back to the store," said Linda Harlow, managing director, Oasis. Harlow was formerly the area rug buyer for Macy's West. The Oasis line utilizes a variety of handmade techniques, including hooking, hand tufting, hand knotting and embroidery.
Oasis is a division of Sphinx and is part of Oriental Weavers.
