Rovner Leaves NexCen Board

Brand management firm NexCen Brands announced that Jack Rovner has resigned from its board of directors, effective Aug. 29.

Rovner, elected a director on Oct.31, 2006, is the co-owner and partner of Vector Management, an artist management company in the music industry.

NexCen, which owns and licenses the Bill Blass and Waverly brands, has been working in recent months to get its financial house in order. A new lending agreement was established in mid-August; meanwhile ceo Robert D'Loren resigned last month and evp brand management Chuck Zona left in May.

Rick Platt, president of NexCen Home Studios, now oversees the Waverly and Gramercy brands – as well as the full range of Bill Blass business, including home, apparel and accessories.
