Karastan wins with Villa Veneto rug

Dalton, Ga. – Karastan is now a 12-time winner of the annual America’s Magnificent Carpet Award held during the Atlanta International Area Rug Market.

Earlier this month, during the most recent market event, Karastan was honored as best overall in the power-loomed $1,000+ (retail) 6-by-9 category for its Villa Veneto rug from the company’s Antique Legends collection.

Anne Carley, Karastan’s director of marketing, said, “We pushed the envelope with Villa Veneto to create the most authentic ‘antique’ look the company has ever produced. By using dozens of meticulously placed colors, in both horizontal and vertical stria, we achieved a look that is beautifully distressed without altering the renowned durability and quality of Karastan’s Axminster construction.”

Villa Veneto, which was inspired by a hand-knotted Sultanabad design, employs shades reminiscent of the weathered walls of Italian villas -- terra cotta, amber and peacock blue – interpreted on fully worsted New Zealand wool. The rug comes in several sizes – 5-foot-9-inch-by-9-foot, 8-foot-8-inch-by-10-foot and 8-foot-8-inch-by-12-foot, and carries an estimated retail of $1,299 for a 5-foot-9-inch-by-9-foot.
