Fabric vet Cherenson laid to rest

White Plains, N.Y. – Services were held here Sunday at Temple Israel Center for Alan Cherenson, retired decorative fabrics executive who was a leader in jacquard woven fabrics.
Cherenson, 84, was owner and headed Uniweave and Chromatex until the sale of the company to the former Rossville Inds. in 1986.In 1988 he joined the former Hoffman Mills in 1988 as director of market development to spearhead the company’s entry into popularly price jacquard and dobby fabrics.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Shirley, four children and eight grandchildren.
