Hellenic expands its throw line

Staff -- Home Textiles Today, 10/7/2002 12:00:00 AM

Though it remains focused on rugs, Hellenic Rug Imports has expanded its throw assortment for this market.

"We bought new equipment in Greece that speeds up production and allows us to make great qualities at competitive pricing," said Steve Mazarakis, president. The throws are produced in the same factory as its flokati rugs.

Twelve new solid colors will debut at the show, as well as several plaid and fishbone designs, and the throws will be offered in both merino wool and lambs wool. Pricing for both wool products is similar, though the quality of the wool determines the hand, he said. Retail points for lambs wool start at $29 for a 50" x 70" throw, but several merino products will retail at $99 and up.
