Tweel Home Fashions signs new licenses, enters rug category

By Staff -- Home Textiles Today, 9/26/2001 12:00:00 AM

Harrison, NJ — Tweel Home Fashions has signed a licensing deal with sister companies Spode and Royal Worcester to produce lines of upscale table linens and kitchen textiles for each property.

For Tweel, the partnership represents an added new category — anti-fatigue kitchen rugs — and also new retail channels — department and upscale specialty gift stores.

"We've had such great success with our other licenses, especially Cheri Blum, that we're being asked by retailers to expand into other categories like rugs," said Gale Egan, design director. "And we're also very excited because our license partnerships with Spode and Royal Worcester we hope will be our entry into a new customer base, department stores and upscale gift stores."

Price points for tablecloths — which are all 100 percent cotton and will be available as both screen-printed jacquards and printed fabric — range from $19.99 to $29.99.
