By Carole Sloan -- Home Textiles Today, 10/17/2005 12:00:00 AM

At the New York Market — A new color palette is featured throughout the various product categories at Park Smith Ltd., including lively shades called Lagoon, Island Breezes, and Fruit Punch, which offer high pastels to hot shades of reds, oranges, blues and greens across rugs, bedding, window coverings and bath products.

Cairo, the Egyptian cotton rug introduced last season, has been expanded in color from 12 to about 24 shades. Also in cotton is a triumvirate of a stripe, circle and circle motif in soft shades as well as the new color trio. Bamboo pulp and cotton in a blend are used for a soft solid color and subtle stripe at $34.99 for the 10-by-30-inch.

Wipe Off, a new multi-functional apron designed in adult and kids sizes, uses the slicker fabric the company introduced last season in shower curtains. The adult size is $14.99, the kids is $9.99

In kitchen textiles, the company has expanded its wine bags and totes and is beginning to coordinate the designs with the placemats and runners.

A major presentation of café curtains with fabrics from bamboo to sheers, in novelty weaves and trims, is featured at $14.99 to $24.99 for the 24-inch.

Pin tuck effects, faux bamboo looks, and open waffle weaves are among the array of new fabrics offered in panels and the company's exclusive Magic Blind. Retails are $19.99 to $29.99 for the 84-inch. A collection of dressy semi-sheers including burnout motifs are featured in Providence and Garbo, which sport embellishments, including ribbon trims.

Matelasse, a washed all-white matelasse coverlet, is mixed with accessories in shades of hot pink in the bedding collection and features a sham with reversible matelasse design. Stripes, plaids and a bold blue and black print are other bed highlights.
