Noida, India —
Hanung Toys & Textiles has opened a new facility in Bhiwandi, on the outskirts of Mumbai, close to India's largest sea port. The company said this will speed turnaround on its shipments.
The $125 million supplier has also invested $45 million in a new plant to expand its production capacity. Hanung manufactures comforter sets, quilts, sheet sets, window treatments, dec pillows and other accessories — as well as plush toys.
Hanung has been involved in two big program launches at U.S. retail during the first quarter, a private label line in the mass market and an exclusive brand in the mid-tier. The company has been focusing on design capabilities and product development to differentiate itself.
