Guilford makes move to 261 Fifth

New York — In search of a more cohesive set-up, Guilford Home Fashions is shifting its headquarters.
The company announced last week it will be moving its offices to 261 Fifth Ave. on the 22nd floor. The 14,437-square-feet space, approximately the same size as its current space, is a private floor complete with wall-to-wall windows and plenty of natural lighting, allowing for complete room settings.
The New York-based home textiles arm of Guilford Mills has occupied space at 295 Fifth for nine years, but recently decided to move and take advantage of "a fresh venue," said Herb Briggs, president of Guilford Home Fashions.
"We're going to gut the whole floor, which will allow us to integrate our room settings with all of our products," Briggs continued. "It's not going to be as segregated a setup as it is now."
In addition to showroom space, corporate offices, full computer-aided and fabric design studios, designers, product managers and global sourcing people will call it home.
The move will begin next month and is expected to be completed by mid-January 2002. The official unveiling will take place during spring market.
"The move definitely re-invigorates things," Briggs said.
We would love your feedback!
