ISTANBUL — Evteks, the world's second largest international home textiles show, is about to get bigger — and, for the first time, has opened exhibit space to non-Turkish manufacturers.
"We had some 200 companies on our waiting list, and it was enough to justify the construction of two new halls for CNR Expo Center," said Ali Bulut, managing director. "Evteks has been growing steadily since its first edition. It is quite parallel to the growth of the home textiles industry."
The 2004 show, scheduled to take place May 19 to 23, will feature 250 new exhibitors in 118,400 square feet of newly constructed space. In addition to Turkish textiles manufacturers, this year's event will include approximately 80 exhibitors from 15 countries, or 10 percent of the total exhibitors. Primary product categories will consist of curtains, tulles, drapery, bedding, bath, furnishings fabrics, upholstery, carpets, rugs and accessories.
