Brumlow Mills adds former Spartan execs

Staff -- Home Textiles Today, 7/9/2001 12:00:00 AM

Three casualties of the now-defunct Spartan International are back in business and calling Brumlow Mills, based here, their new home.

Frank Dwyer has been appointed vp, international sourcing; Gary Kirsh is the new vp, merchandising; and Bill Weltzer has accepted the position of account executive. All three will report to Mitchell Brumlow, president, and will work closely with Bob Flesca, vp of sales and marketing.

Dwyer and Kirsh both held similar titles most recently at Spartan. Weltzer was Spartan's vp, sales.

The three new executives have been hired to aid Brumlow Mills' new initiative to expand into importing and new product categories. Spartan International shut down in May. All three positions are new and were created for Dwyer, Kirsh and Weltzer.

"First and foremost, Mitchell Brumlow welcomed the three of us like family, and it's an honor for us because he's done such a great job with the company, and he's made us feel so welcome," Kirsh said. "We're glad to be able to bring to the company a new perspective — importing. We're here not to make any changes, but just enhance an already great and successful company."
