Shealy tapped to head Springs' dec floor biz

Fort Mill, SC — Torrence Shealy has been named president of Springs' decorative floor coverings division, which consists of the Beaulieu area rug business acquired in 2002 and existing accent and specialty rugs under Regal and other brands. Shealy succeeds Kris Honeyman, who has left the company.

As senior vp, quality assurance for the past two years, Shealy has served as a "vital resource" to Springs and its customers, according to Crandall Bowles, Springs chairman and ceo. "Torrence's broad range of experiences in his 25 years with Springs position him well to lead this important and fast growing new addition to our business," said Bowles. "He has brought an enhanced focus on all aspects of quality, and has put in place quality assurance procedures that will lead to continued improvement in the product quality delivered to our customers."

Shealy has served the company in a variety of capacities during his tenure, including as senior vp, marketing, president of the Wamsutta division and general sales manager of the Springmaid division. He also led a corporate quality initiative from 1988 to 1990.
