FIT Will Honor Textiles Execs

New York — The Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) will honor several home textiles industry leaders at its 10th annual Scholarship Awards Breakfast, set for Tuesday, April 4 at the Waldorf-Astoria Grand Ballroom. The scholarships support the college's Home Products Development program; the breakfast even will also serve as a fundraiser.
This year's distinguished honorees include Alan Gladstone, chairman, president, and ceo of retailer Anna's Linens, who will receive the Outstanding Achievement award, and Carl Goldstein, senior vp, S. Lichtenberg & Co., who will receive the Humanitarian award. Marvin Traub, president of Marvin Traub Associates, will receive the Distinguished Global Leadership award, and Nancy Webster, president and ceo of Thomasville Furniture Industries, will receive the Lifetime Achievement Award in Home Products.
The breakfast chair for the event is Dr. Leonard Florence, chairman of the Leonard Florence Group. Co-chairs are Peter G. Scotese, chairman emeritus of the FIT board of trustees; Jeffrey Siegel, ceo, president, and coo, Lifetime Brands Inc.; and consultant Lester Gribetz.
