New York —
At Mini-Market last week, Arrow Home Fashions played up contemporary with a third of its new collection devoted to modern looks.
The company showed 18 new patterns on beds, six of which were contemporary and four in multiple colors. There were also 30 prints being shown on boards that could be turned into beds upon request.
“We are trying to forge our way into contemporary design to be more well-rounded for our customers and give us a bit more dimension,” explained Rich Sperber, executive vice president of marketing and operations at Arrow. “Basically, it's a fabrications and piecing story offering looks that are easy to live with, but have a lot more trims.”
Some of the contemporary looks included: Romantica, a solid color silk bed with feminine pleating offered in 10 colorways; Sundance, a monochromatic look with woven grid and windowpane motif available in five colors plus coordinating floral accents; Camilla, a pale aqua contemporary floral with regional Florida or California appeal; Pompeii, a bronze and rust geometric look with a rectangular grid motif; and Tango, featuring multiple textures pieced together like a plisse fabric for crinkle effect and a basketweave.
For the October market, Arrow plans on adding three to four colorful monochromatic beds inspired by some of the contemporary looks currently on display. The company is also looking to expand into throws and accent rugs that coordinate back to bedding.
We would love your feedback!
