Carpenter unveils new collection of bedding

RICHMOND, VA —

Carpenter Co. announced the addition of several new products designed to help consumers sleep better.

The visco-elastic foam manufacturer will unveil the New Life Comfort Core mattress pad, the Qualatex polyurethane foam mattress pad, the Sublime Comfort visco mattress overlay, the Perfect Down and Perfect Elegance pillows, a new polyester fill entitled Responsive and The Ultimate Bed Wedge pillow.

The New Life Comfort Core mattress pad contains a foam core surrounded by an overfilled layer of Carpenter's own spiral-spun Rely fiber.

The foam core, said Dan Schecter, vp of sales and marketing for Carpenter's Consumer Products division, provides support, while the surrounding Rely layer provides softness. A twin size pad will be $34.99 at retail.

The Qualatex mattress pad is made from polyurethane foam and features a unique hole-punch design that looks to improve the pad's breathability and resiliency. The polyurethane, according to Carpenter, outperforms conventional foam in both durability and support, which translates into superior sleeping comfort and product longevity. It is also hypoallergenic. A twin size will be offered at a retail price point of $59.99.

Rounding out Carpenter's mattress pad introductions is the Sublime Comfort visco-elastic foam mattress overlay with a retail price point for a twin of $24.99.

The overlay features "memory" foam fingers designed to massage the user while at the same time molding to the body. The Sublime Comfort Pillow is scheduled to follow soon.

The Perfect Down and Perfect Elegance pillows will complement Carpenter's already existing Perfect Pillow.

Like the Perfect Pillow, the Perfect Down and Perfect Elegance models will have a visco-elastic foam core and a velour cover. In the Perfect Down, however, the foam will be surrounded by goose down, while the foam in the Perfect Elegance will be enclosed in polyester fiber. Both the down cover and fiber cover are removable and machine washable. Retail price points will start at $59.99 and $49.99, respectively.

Bolstering Carpenter's already extensive polyester fill offerings for pillows will be Responsive fill. According to studies conducted by Carpenter, Responsive has better loft retention, more support and better resiliency than other polyester fills and also provides superior washability.

Completing Carpenter's new consumer offerings will be The Ultimate Bed Wedge lounging pillow, which will have a retail price point of $49.99. Featuring a foam core and a machine-washable and -dryable cover, the Ultimate Bed Wedge may be combined with Carpenter's 4-position Pillow which can be attached to the wedge with Velcro.
