Shaw adds two new Angela Adams carpet collections for hospitality market

-- Home Textiles Today, 5/27/2009 10:03:00 AM

Dalton, Ga. – Shaw is expanding its licensed program with designer Angela Adams as well as its sustainable offerings with two new carpet collections created for the hospitality market.

Both of them inspired by “the colors of Maine,” the companies said in a statement, the Executive and Orchid collections are sustainable and reclaimable, and are “Cradle to Cradle” certified by McDonough Braungart Design Chemistry.

The collections are manufactured by Shaw with Eco Solution Q nylon, which contains 25% post-industrial recycled content and are 100% recyclable back into themselves in a closed-loop process.

Executive pairs serene color combinations with patterns “that evoke modern eloquence and natural beauty,” while Orchid combines the colors of sunset skies and ripened fruit with “cheerfully inspired floral patterns,” the companies said.

The patterns are designed in print, tufted and computer yarn placement (CYP) patterns and can be customized with more than 288 colors. The print carpets are available in 720 colors.

“The Executive collection is the perfect palette and blend of textures [with which] to surround yourself at the end of a busy day,” Adams said. “The soft foggy, gray flannel colors and subtle lines are instantly warming and comforting. I also love bold, succulent colors that make your mouth water. The Orchid collection makes me smile every time I’m around it.”

Through a nationwide recycling network, Executive and Orchid carpets can be reclaimed and turned back into new Eco Solution Q fiber.
