ARLINGTON, VA —
The International Mass Retail Association has promoted Jon Gold to vp of international trade policy and Britt Wood to svp of research and education, effective immediately.
Gold, who has been with the organization since 1996, will represent IMRA on various trade issues and negotiations before Congress and the executive branch in his new role, which also signals his joining the senior management team. Most recently he has been working on issues surrounding supply chain security and has served as IMRA's liaison to the Department of Homeland Security and the U.S. Customs Service.
He serves on the Industry Sector Advisory Committee on Retailing and Wholesaling, which is responsible for advising the U.S. government on trade negotiations. He is also a member of the advisory committee of the West Coast Waterfront Coalition as chairman and treasurer. He continues to report to Kathryn Lavriha, svp of government affairs.
Britt Wood has been promoted to svp of research and education from his position as vp. Having been with IMRA since 1995, he will continue to develop and coordinate IMRA's Global Innovations Council, a group guiding IMRA's new global retailing research study about progressive retail formats in seven countries. He is also developing two new retail leadership councils in the areas of managing people and the supply chain. He continues to report to Sandy Kennedy, president.
