Karastan Customizes Inspired Luxury Rugs

Upscale area rug manufacturer and importer Karastan is taking its service and offerings up another notch with the introduction of its Inspired Luxury program of customized rug offerings.

Consumers can now select the palette for their Karastan-branded carpet or transform select Karastan broadlooms into custom rugs under Inspired Luxury, the company explained.

"Inspired Luxury gives Karastan customers a unique opportunity to personalize their space and create a signature floor covering to complement the room of their dreams," said Connie Berry, director of marketing.

Within Karastan's Custom Color program is a palette spanning more than 100 colors that range from subtle neutrals like taupe, caramel and gray, to brilliant purples, sea green and yellows — all of which can be paired with 15 Inspired Luxury broadloom designs.

Once the color has been selected, Karastan specially dyes three swatches to obtain the most precise match. The chosen pattern and shade are manufactured and delivered within four to six weeks. A 66-square-yard minimum order is required for this service.

The process of creating an Inspired Luxury rug starts with selecting from 15 broadloom styles, including the popular Coastal Elegance and Ribbon Dance collections.

From there, shoppers pick their preferred size, which can range from 6-by-9 to 9-by-12. They can also add a finished look by choosing one of four bindings — cotton, jute, leather or wool fiber serging. Delivery is also estimated at four to six weeks and retails are about $599 for a 6-by-9 to $2,199 for a 9-by-12, depending on style and binding.
