Brylane, union agree on representation process

By Staff -- Home Textiles Today, 1/7/2003 3:41:00 PM

Indianapolis — Retailer Brylane and UNITE (the Union of Needletrades, Industrial and Textile Employees) have reached an agreement allowing workers at Brylane's Indiana catalog distribution centers to decide if they want union representation.

Brylane and UNITE signed a joint statement of agreement last week spelling out the process for a secret mail-in card/ballot procedure administered by a neutral third party attorney. The campaign will run from Jan. 9 to 23.

With over $1.6 billion in sales, Brylane is one of America's largest catalog retailers. UNITE has 250,000 members in the United States, Canada and Puerto Rico.
