Wal-Mart now accepts checks over the Internet

Bentonville, AR — Wal-Mart announced it will accept online check payments from customers who either don't use credit cards or who prefer to pay with checks for their Internet purchases.

Consumers can enter their checking account information into an encrypted payment process that verifies that account holder's identity.

The new process also allows consumers to handle returns electronically, whether consumers are shipping return merchandise back to walmart.com or returning at their local store.
